PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is a treatment that uses a concentration of a patient's own platelets to promote healing. It involves drawing a patient's blood, separating the platelets, and then injecting the concentrated platelets into an area of injury or degeneration. PRP is used for various conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, hair loss, and skin rejuvenation.

What is PRP?

PRP is a component of blood that contains a high concentration of platelets and growth factors. Platelets are essential for blood clotting and contain proteins called growth factors that play a crucial role in tissue healing and regeneration. By concentrating these platelets and injecting them into an injured area, PRP aims to accelerate the body's natural healing process.

How is PRP made?

To create PRP, a small amount of blood is drawn from the patient, similar to a blood test. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge, which spins the blood at high speed to separate its components. This process concentrates the platelets and growth factors into a smaller volume of plasma, resulting in PRP.
