Dental and Medical Insurance for Treatment

Temporomandibular Disorders Orofacial Pain/Sedation Dentistry

Treatment for Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD), orofacial pain, and sedation dentistry is generally filed under major medical insurance rather than dental plans, as these conditions are categorized as medical issues. A major medical insurance policy is a legal agreement between you or your employer and an insurance provider, detailing the provider's obligation to treatment deemed insurable under the policy. Currently, most insurers do not cover TMD, orofacial pain, or sedation dentistry.

Dr. Leon D. James does not engage directly with insurance providers regarding treatment benefits. However, our office is here to assist you in identifying any available benefits for you.

We do not accept assignment of benefits and do not initiate treatment based on pending insurance approval. ** Partnership in Treatment** Understanding the financial aspects of your care is crucial for a smooth treatment process.

We strive to maintain clear communication to avoid misunderstandings, and we ask that you review and sign our financial policy prior to starting treatment.

If You Have Dental Insurance

A dental insurance policy is a contract between you and the insurance company, independent of our office. As a courtesy, we can submit a pre-treatment estimate to your insurer upon request. While we aim to understand various insurance plans, it is your responsibility to contact your provider to clarify your benefits and address any questions regarding the estimate or fees before treatment begins. Please note that not all services may be covered, and you will be responsible for any remaining balance, regardless of insurance coverage.

Payment Options

You are responsible for all services provided, including dental fees, procedures, and medications. We offer various payment options to your needs and encourage discussions about these options at any time. We work directly with patients and request payment for services as they are rendered, with insurance payments directed to the. We participate with Care Credit, Proceed Finance, HFD, and Sunbit, a healthcare credit card for health, beauty, and wellness expenses, allowing convenient monthly payments.

We recommend reviewing your medical insurance policy to understand your coverage limits. It is your responsibility to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider for any payments made for your treatment. We look forward to helping you achieve a pain-free life with restored function!

Insurance Information for Obstructive Sleep Apnea Treatment with Oral Appliance Therapy

Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a medical condition affecting your breathing and overall health during sleep. Some medical insurance providers may cover Oral Appliance Therapy for this. Before beginning treatment, we can assist in determining if this therapy is eligible for coverage. Most major insurers have specific criteria for approving coverage, and the team can help assess if your condition meets these requirements.
